Here’s a short vid on cool, mellow major seventh chords. Major sevenths are extremely common in a lot of mainstream and modern jazz. They crop up a fair bit in ballad-type pop and folk music, but you won’t find many in rock’n'roll, soul and the blues. Still, a great chord to know about, a very easy to use to enrich your improvisation on the piano and other instruments.
