An overview of diminished chords and how they work, including the difference between straightforward diminisheds and diminished sevenths, which actually amount to pretty much the same thing in the chord progressions of those songs where they are used.
Like augmented chords, diminisheds are relatively rare in most contemporary pop, but they are very common as passing chords in the progressions of classic jazz and showtunes.
